The icon is an exact reproduction of the original which is kept in St. Dimitar's Chapel at the Zograph Monastery on Mount Athos. St. George is portrayed as a young worrier in gorgeous attire and armament, emanating nobleness and strength. The soft line and the intricate painting technique achieved by the icon painter's precise brush present us with one of the most interesting effigies of the worrier St. George.
